Mauri Kunnas

Mauri Kunnas is a prominent cartoonist and author of children's books from Finland, born in 1950 in Vammala. In 1975 he graduated as a graphic designer at Aalto University in Helsinki. Over the years, he has made significant contributions as a satirist in several Finnish newspapers.

Mauri is primarily known for his extensive collection of children's books, which he has also illustrated himself. One of his most well-known book series is the one that follows the adventures in Jyckeberga, where he creates a historical depiction of Finland with dogs exhibiting human-like characteristics.

In addition to its beloved Christmas Santas, who have become a dear favorite with us, Mauri has launched new exciting animal motifs in 2023.
