How much does it cost to create a custom design?
The starting cost for a unique pattern or image is from 3,900 SEK. If you’d like to personalize something from Ekelund’s existing collection, the cost starts at 1,950 SEK. Additional charges apply for extra rounds of revisions or sample weaves.
I have an idea – but no finished design
No problem! You don’t have to be a designer. Just tell us what you’d like to express – a feeling, a place, a symbol, a tone of color – and our team will help turn it into a unique woven story. We’ll provide a quote for the design work.
What’s the minimum order quantity?
The minimum quantity depends on the type of product. For example:
• Dish cloths: 100 pcs
• Towels 35x50 cm: 60 pcs
• Plaids: 20 pcs
• Cushion covers: 30 pcs
What material is used – and is it sustainable?
Yes! All products are woven in 100% certified organic materials – cotton or a cotton/linen blend – and the entire production is GOTS-certified, meeting the highest environmental and social standards. This is not optional in custom orders; it’s part of our identity.
Are there any limitations I should be aware of?
Yes – and they’re what make the craft so beautiful. We weave using up to 6 colors, which means your design needs to be adapted to a limited palette. But our designers are experts in working creatively within these boundaries.
We weave in organic cotton or cotton/linen, which works best with clean forms, strong contrasts, and thoughtful composition. Halftones, fine lines, or photo-like details may need to be interpreted differently for weaving.
And finally: we weave, not print – which means certain effects or gradients can’t be replicated exactly. But what you get instead is something far more tactile, soulful, and lasting.
What’s the delivery time?
Standard delivery is 5–8 weeks after design approval and sample confirmation.
Can I have my own label on the product?
Absolutely. For an additional cost, we can weave or sew your logo into the label, hanging loop, or even the packaging. The details matter – and we make them count.
