Purveyor to the Royal Court of Sweden

Becoming a Purveyor to the Royal Court of Sweden is a prestigious accolade awarded to companies as a testament to the exceptional quality of their products or services, which have particularly endeared them to a member of the royal household. The honour is personally bestowed by His Majesty the King of Sweden and serves as a reliable indicator of the company's outstanding quality and trustworthiness. Being a Purveyor to the Royal Court of Sweden is thus a comprehensive mark of quality, signifying both the company and its products as worthy of the royal household. It is with pride and a sense of tradition that we humbly continue our unique production, striving to maintain the trust bestowed upon us by the royal household.

How do you become a Purveyor to the Royal Court of Sweden?

To qualify for Purveyor to the Royal Court of Sweden status, a company must supply goods or perform services for a member of the royal family. It's important to note that a company doesn't automatically become a Purveyor to the Royal Court of Sweden simply by delivering products to the royal household on its own initiative; the order must originate from the royal court.

To be eligible for appointment as a Purveyor to the Royal Court of Sweden, the company must have been in operation for at least five years and have managed its finances in an exemplary manner. Companies applying for Purveyor to the Royal Court of Sweden status are also expected to have a structured environmental policy and to be actively engaged in environmental issues, something that has long been a matter of course for Ekelund.

The frequency with which a company delivers its goods to the royal household varies, depending on the nature of the products they supply and the needs within the royal household. This accolade is only awarded to companies that meet the stringent criteria and demonstrate a long-term and reliable relationship with the royal family. The Purveyor to the Royal Court of Sweden is directly tied to the royal individual who granted it, and thus lapses upon a change of monarch. At that point, the company must reapply for Royal Warrant Holder status.

It is with immense pride that all of us at Ekelund, Linneväveriet in Horred, supply the royal household with artisanal products, carrying on a heritage dating back to 1692.
