Nils-Erik Nilsson

The artist Nils-Erik Nilsson, who lives in the Swedish summer resort of Halmstad, is a versatile artist who has left his mark on the Swedish art scene. At Ekelund, Nils-Erik is most renowned for the marvelous cityscapes that adorn our towels.

Since 1972, Nils-Erik has devoted himself to classical art with oil and watercolour painting as his main means of expression. Over the years he has also explored other art forms including acrylic, gouache, lithography, etching, photography and even 3D animation. But his focus has always been on artistic painting and digital image creation.

Since 2009, Nils-Erik began his project to paint motifs from Swedish cities. In each cityscape, he strives to capture the soul and character of the city, and his works are thus a fascinating blend of reality, imagination, old memories, humor, and meticulously incorporated details.
