Virtuelli Design

Virtuelli Design was founded in 1999 by the creative team consisting of Ulla Gustavsson and Ilkka Timonen. Their unique backgrounds and skills have merged to create a diverse design business. Ulla has a background as a textile designer and is educated at the prestigious Konstfack, while Ilkka has experience from the graphic industry and has previously worked at Edsvik Art Gallery. In addition, Ilkka has a solid education in art science and media design.

What really makes Virtuelli Design unique is the unusual collaboration between Ulla and Ilkka. Ilkka's design often starts with a photographic foundation, where the design originates from photographic elements that are then simplified and transformed into a more graphic expression. In contrast, Ulla's design is based on hand-drawn sketches, often inspired by our rich folk art tradition and beautiful, intricate foliage.

Their creativity is inspired by nature, which is reflected in their art. Their walks in the woods and fields allow them to explore both the grandeur and the small details of nature, influencing their work in a profound and fascinating way.
