Ylva Kongbäck

Ylva Kongbäck, who was born in 1949 and passed away in 2016, began her professional career in 1976 as a teacher for design students at the Textile Institute in Borås. She forged a successful career in textile development and built an award-winning reputation over her many years in the industry.

As a textile designer, Ylva received several awards, including prestigious awards such as Excellent Swedish Form, both as an honorable mention and a design award.

Many of Ylva Kongbäck's designs are inspired by her deep passion for plants, horticulture and the environments around the picturesque fishing village of Spiken, located on the southern shore of Vänern. One of her patterns, "Spikensiken," pays tribute to the production of "Vänern's gold" - rum from Siklöjan, and artistically captures the rich culture and nature that surrounds this unique area.

Ylva Kongbäck's artistic legacy lives on through her exceptional textile design and the love for nature that she conveyed through her works.
